For Jack's shark themed birthday, I was super excited to find the trendy paper straws and glassine bags at Michael's in the $2 bins. The bold stripes in red and turquoise were the perfect colors to add treats to the sand buckets and straws for the "ocean water."
I saved a few of each, knowing them would come in handy on a scrappy project. Just in time, Paper Secrets first challenge for June is a sketch, with the twist being to use a treat bag!
So perfect!
Here is the sketch for inspiration...
...and here is the layout I came up with, using the adorable BoBunny Surprise line which also coordinated and was birthday themed! A win-win! The striped papers were perfect for the challenge over at Red Carpet Studio for "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas" challenge!
I used the turquoise and white treat bag as a background paper, and the straws to make little pennants which I used in place of the doilies in the sketch.
So those treat bags you've been hoarding because they were too cute to throw away? Use them on a page and try out this challenge over at Paper Secrets: Paper Secrets June Challenge
