Washi Wednesday

When I discovered Washi tape, I knew I had found another supply I would hoard! With so many fun patterns and colors, and the ease of adding it to a page, it is now one of my go-to embellishments.
This month's challenge at The Paper Girls was to use this fun product on a project.
I did a black and white layout with simple lines and let the patterns of my tape shine.

Scrap Much Sketch Challenges

For the month of February I used two of Scrap Much? sketches for inspiration.
The first one...
featured two photos and layering of patterned papers.I used October Afternoon's Thrift Shop line for this layout of Jack doodling.
The second sketch I used...
used a fun doily and I switched it up to feature one photo with Three Bugs In A Rug paper.

Scrap Much February Color Challenge

As we come to the end of February, I'll miss the pretty Valentine colors that go along with the month of love. This pretty color combo from Scrap Much http://www.shopscrapmuch.blogspot.ca/2013/02/february-colour-challenge.html, is one such palette:
I used Carta Bella's Devoted line to create this layout as well as this week's sketch from Scrapbook Steals Midweek Mojo which can be found here: http://scrapbook.steals.com/wp/2013/02/20/my-minds-eye-collectable-notable-memorable-mid-week-mojo/

Fresh Air Fun

We took so many pictures on a long weekend away at Ocean Shores and even in February we were able to get some great shots on the bright beach.

I used the beautiful hues of oranges and greens inspired by Color Me Scrappy's color challenge plus the twist to use "fresh" in the title.
I loved the hues of orange from deep to light, and the fresh green colors! Check out Color Me Scrappy's color challenges here: http://color-me-scrappy.blogspot.com/

My Creative Sketches January sketch

This month's sketch at My Creative Sketches featured layers and a central photo for inspiration.
I emphasized the framing in my layout by using rhinestones to create the framework.

I traced a die cut to create the bird, and added faux stitching to the edges, pop dotting the wing for dimension. This layout features a mix of manufacturers and a fun way to use up your scraps!

Now Playing

We were walking through the Seattle Center one day in early fall and there were these great, empty "now playing" signs outside of one of the arenas. The kids jumped up and we got some great shots.
When I saw these cardstock pieces by The Paper Loft and immediately thought of these pictures!
I cut out the fun movie themed bits to create this fun page featuring those photos!

Christmas Dresses

This month's challenge over at The Paper Girls was to use some wood on your layout.
I immediately thought of the little wooden spools I had picked up in the wood findings area at Artco.
First I added a large glue dot to the spool, then wrapped it in red and white twine. I then added some Kaisercraft flowers with brads through the center to coordinate with the Christmas colors. It had a festive fun look to go along with these Authentique papers and the girls in their Christmas finery.

Lime Mustache

I've been enjoying using my new papers from The Paper Loft's new release, In The Zone. With fun blues and greens, it screams boy pages!
I used a sketch from The Sampler Kit Club's January challenge:

I used the lime green cardstock called "Automatic" and a strip of "In Sync" starred paper, along with a cut out from the "Happy" Accessory sheet.

The Paper Loft Guest Designer!

I was super excited to be chosen as the February Guest Designer over at The Paper Loft! When the box of goodies to use arrived at my door, I was thrilled to see the newest lines, just released at CHA Winter 2013, included to play with!
With tons of winter pictures to scrap, I started by playing with Shades of Gray, a line, which like its name, includes winter shades of gray hues with embellishments varied from winter to wedding.

I played with the January sketch:
The cute cardstock embellishments included fun winter themes and they were perfect for our tubing pictures!

I added some Stickles to the title and the snowflakes, which I cut with my Silhouette, to add a sparkly winter feel the layout.
I hope you take a chance to head over to The Paper Loft to check out this fun new collection, and take part in the February challenge!
