About a Boy: Boys Will Be Boys Challenge

The first challenge for May over at About A Boy Scrapbook Challenges, was to create a layout featuring your boy being a boy.
I had some fun photos of Jack tree climbing and the fabulous Awesome line from Simple Stories to create this layout.

A Whole Lot of Bling

I had some beautiful papers from Glitz Designs Hello Friend collection that were just perfect for some photos I took of Hannah in the wetlands during her class field trip.

I used the second sketch for May at Paper Secrets for inspiration with a single photo, fun pennant banner pieces, and lots of bling!

I changed my up a little with fewer bigger banners and switched the sides so that I could make my butterflies fly into and over my photos.

Some Fun Papers from Across the Pond

I am such a paper hoarder you would think I would have ventured beyond the borders of the United States before to look at papers, but I had not!
It wasn't until I discovered these fun papers over at C'est Magnifique did I even know the name Inkido, a company from Sweden! Their pretty rose papers were just perfect for fussy cutting with a soft and delicate design.

I used C'est Magnifique's May Sketch for inspiration.

And Scrap Our Stash's Patterned Paper Party Challenge using 3+ papers from 3+ Collections.
In addition to Inkido's Paper, I used Teresa Collins Fabrications, and Glitz Designs Hello Friend.

Paper Secrets April Challenge

For the second challenge of April at Paper Secrets, the sketch featured fun strips with the twist of using wood elements.

I used a sweet picture from our Spring Break trip to the ocean of Jack checking out the ocean view.

I used strips of soft paper, burlap ribbon, and washi, and embellished with wood buttons and butterfly punches, titling it "let your mind soar."

Challenge Me Happy Challenge #44

I had fun playing with a monochromatic color palette, or should I say no-color palette since it was completely white!
I was inspired by this sketch from Challenge Me Happy....

I replaced the fleur di lis designs with flowers, and used dry embossed vellum for the banner pieces.

My Creative Sketches April Sketch

The sketch for April over at My Creative Sketches featured one of my favorite embellishments, banners!

I took advantage of the banners printed on Pebbles bright collection to create thin layout full of patterns and layers.

I made the flowers by cutting random circles freehand from the papers and layering them on top of each other, and adding a button to the center.

Scrap Much? sketch #4

For sketch #4 for April, Scrap Much? featured the following sketch...

I loved all the layering and the splattered mist which I used on my layout but slowly depressing the misting tip on my Glimmer Mist. I also used a doily and layered some black and white photos of Hannah.
