Recently I decided to do more with my twine than tie it on buttons and hang banners. I started using my glue pen to create swirly loops and then adhere the twine to it.
I added a pretty metal drangonfly from Teresa Collins to the end of the trail.

My Mind's Eye Lost & Found 3
I am a huge fan of My Mind's Eye and their collections. I love how they coordinate solids, stripes, and florals to be used together.
I also love their Lost & Found lines with pretty glitter accents, even on boy themed papers.
I used the blues from the Oliver line and a sketch from My Creative Endeavors, along with the twist of using summer as inspiration. I used this photo of Jack at the summer fair with a glint of the ride lights in the background.
I shifted my circle a bit to see more of it, and flipped my photo to a horizontal one. I used hexagon punched pieces in a sunny yellow for accents.
Go check out the challenge at My Creative Endeavors to give this one a try!

Beach House
Using the Lost & Found 3 line from My Mind's Eye, I created this layout from our beach trip to Ocean Shores.
I love this versatile line and the hues of yellow, turquoise, and grey complimented the gray shore pictures.
For the All That Stickles challenge, I used turquoise Stickles on the doily sticker.
For the Scrap our Stash Challenge, All About our Guys, I used Jack as my subject and included five screw brads to accent my layout.
And for The Paper Girls challenge, using the beach, I used photos from our beach trip.

Confessions of a Bag Lady
For Jack's shark themed birthday, I was super excited to find the trendy paper straws and glassine bags at Michael's in the $2 bins. The bold stripes in red and turquoise were the perfect colors to add treats to the sand buckets and straws for the "ocean water."
I saved a few of each, knowing them would come in handy on a scrappy project. Just in time, Paper Secrets first challenge for June is a sketch, with the twist being to use a treat bag!
So perfect!
Here is the sketch for inspiration...
...and here is the layout I came up with, using the adorable BoBunny Surprise line which also coordinated and was birthday themed! A win-win! The striped papers were perfect for the challenge over at Red Carpet Studio for "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas" challenge!
I used the turquoise and white treat bag as a background paper, and the straws to make little pennants which I used in place of the doilies in the sketch.
So those treat bags you've been hoarding because they were too cute to throw away? Use them on a page and try out this challenge over at Paper Secrets: Paper Secrets June Challenge

About a Boy: Boys Will Be Boys Challenge
The first challenge for May over at About A Boy Scrapbook Challenges, was to create a layout featuring your boy being a boy.
I had some fun photos of Jack tree climbing and the fabulous Awesome line from Simple Stories to create this layout.

A Whole Lot of Bling
I had some beautiful papers from Glitz Designs Hello Friend collection that were just perfect for some photos I took of Hannah in the wetlands during her class field trip.
I used the second sketch for May at Paper Secrets for inspiration with a single photo, fun pennant banner pieces, and lots of bling!
I changed my up a little with fewer bigger banners and switched the sides so that I could make my butterflies fly into and over my photos.

Some Fun Papers from Across the Pond
I am such a paper hoarder you would think I would have ventured beyond the borders of the United States before to look at papers, but I had not!
It wasn't until I discovered these fun papers over at C'est Magnifique did I even know the name Inkido, a company from Sweden! Their pretty rose papers were just perfect for fussy cutting with a soft and delicate design.
I used C'est Magnifique's May Sketch for inspiration.
And Scrap Our Stash's Patterned Paper Party Challenge using 3+ papers from 3+ Collections.
In addition to Inkido's Paper, I used Teresa Collins Fabrications, and Glitz Designs Hello Friend.
