Keep Calm and Get Crafty

During the month of March our scrapbook group participated in the Northwest Paper Chase, visiting stores all over Western Washington and taking fun photos at the different themed stores.
While I only hit 11 of the 21 stores, I had a blast road tripping it with friends.
We had made shirts that read "Keep Calm and Scrap On" that we wore throughout the Chase.
It was perfect for GrandDiva's Creative Corner March Challenge to use the theme "Keep Calm..." for layout inspiration.
In addition, I used Scrappin'n'Happy's sketch challenge for inspiration...

and Rochelle Spears color challenge...
...and Kristy B's challenge to use masking.
In addition I used the Scrap It Girl Recipe Challenge with 1 stamped image, 2 punches, and 3 patterned papers.

A Caroling We Will Go

I had been eyeing the City Sidewalks line from Pink Paislee for some time and finally found it at a local scrapbook store on the Northwest Paper Chase.
The soft tones had a vintage feel which was perfect for photos from the Christmas Train ride.

I used a sketch from Scrap Our Stash for inspiration, with mixed alphas for the title.

The color combo inspiration came from S.W.A.T challenge...

Birthday Wishes

I picked up some of the cute new BoBunny birthday line with fun brights featuring cupcakes and balloons!
I used a sketch from Sketch N Scrap with multiple photos on a single page layout:

I layered the patterns and added Stickles in lime green, as part of the March challenge over at All That Stickles, and made the cupcake sparkle and shine.

Beach Girl

This month's sketch at C'est Magnifique featured a cute little birdcage and it gave me the chance to use a fun wood one I picked up to embellish my page with.
I used some pretty girly papers from Echo Park's new Sister's line and a photo of Hannah from our beach vacation.
I misted the page with a pale rose and green mist as part of S.W.A.T Basic Training, using mist on a page.
I also used some pretty gingham ribbon stapled to the edge of the matte with my Tim Holtz mini stapler to feature ribbon as part of Red Carpet Studio's challenge to use ribbon.

Colorful Kraft

I love kraft paper. Michael's used to carry it in packs of 12X12 but discontinued them earlier this year. They have started stocking it in their open stock paper and I stock up on it since it's a staple in my stash.
This month over at Scrap Our Stash, the challenge was to create a project where 50% of it was kraft. plus use at least three metal embellishments.
Also, over at The Paper Girls, they provided a photo for inspiration, in which a tag was made using kraft, and colorful inks.
I created a layout from our beach vacation, using a kraft background, corrugate that I tore from a box, and inked them with Tim Holtz Distress Stain.

2 Broke Girls Challenges

I recently received an invite to a new scrapbook forum, 2 Broke Girls Challenges. If you're familiar with the show, the two girls make fancy cupcakes, and there are cupcakes all over this new fun blog!
I of course jumped all over the sketch challenge featuring the following sketch...
I used The Paper Loft Easy Breezy line to create this layout from our ocean trip where we enjoyed Hannah's favorite, giant chocolate chip cookies!

This month's challenge at The Paper Girls Challenge was to use snowflakes on a layout. What a great opportunity to get caught up on some snow pictures...from last winter! I also used inspiration from Scrapbook Steals Midweek Mojo sketch...

I hope everyone had a chance to hop over to Colorful Creations and check out the Pot of Gold Crop this weekend! If you didn't, you still have a chance to enter the challenges until March 17th, St Patrick's Day!

One of the challenges which was also BoBunny's March Challenge, was to use the word "lucky" on a project, and I used it in the title of this layout, Lucky Girl...
I also used the sketch from Paper Secrets March 1st Sketch Challenge for inspiration...

The challenge was to use the sketch plus use Thickers, which I used for the title. I also used the color inspiration from Color Me Scrappy Challenge #32...
