Mid-Week Mojo

Another sketch from Scrapbook Steals! Love the banners they have been using! Also, Scrap-Friendzy's Camp Friendzy challenge for this week is Campfire Songs, to use the title or lyrics from a favorite song. I used One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful" for this layout of Hannah.

The Paper Girls Challenge

The Paper Girls blog (http://thepapergirlschallenge.blogspot.com/) is holding a challenge for June using one of my favorite new looks, subway art. I used my Cricut to cut out pieces of a quote from a Taylor Swift song, another challenge, to create the subway art quote on one side of my page.

A Happy Layout

I was super excited to find out I had won GrandDiva's Creative Corner Birthday Celebration Challenge #2! I can't wait to get my BoBunny goodies!
This weeks challenge was to use the color red, a handmade sun, and the word "happy."
I used some new papers by Basic Grey for this layout of Ruth and Hannah at Girl Scout camp.

What A Gentleman

Coming up with embellishments for boy pages can be tough so with the recent trend of mustaches on everything, I've been having fun using them as embellishments on my pages of Jack! I also dripped Glimmer Mist across the page, added a border sticker from Studio Calico and cute canvas banners by Maya Road.

More Fussy Cutting

I typically buy papers by collection; paper, stickers, embellishments. But this paper I found and fell in love with, just one sheet. In these cases I tend to fussy cut pieces to extend how I use it and complete the look. This layout was for a color challenge on Color Me Scrappy using this color palette.

My Mind's Eye June Challenge

I love the collection from My Mind's Eye and their June challenge, to fussy cut their paper, was just perfect since that's what I love to do with so much of their paper!

Trendy Twine June Challenge

Twine is one of my favorite new embellishments to come to the scrapbook industry. I tie it on buttons, wrap it around pages, and twirl it into swirls. Trendy Twine is having a challenge to win some of their beautiful twine as part of their June sketch challenge!

Love My Tapes

I love washi tapes and am looking to increase my collection so I am so happy that Love My Tape is hosting a sketch challenge this month! I used these bright papers by Pinecone Press to enter!

Color Me Scrappy Color Challenge

Color Me Scrappy is another website that has fun challenges, these ones based on a color scheme. This challenge was to use this color pallette:
I love the natural tones and used a fall photo for my layout:

Turquoise #3 sketch

I am getting caught up with Scrapbook Steals Mid Week Mojo sketch challenges! This one was for week three of the turquoise series:
I loved the little pennants and cut up a border strip and corner punched the edges to make this tree banner to coordinate with the tree sticker from Echo Park.

Scrapbook Steal Challenge #4

Another great sketch challenge, part of a series by Scrapbook Steals.
The sketch for challenge #4 looked like this:
I love using banner on my pages and this is what I came up with using Echo Park's Hello Sunshine line:

Lyrics Challenge

GrandDiva's Creation had a challenge this week using the lyrics from a song for a layout title or journaling. What a great idea when you can't come up with journaling for a photo! I used It's A Beautiful Day by India Arie with these lyrics:
Early in the morning
It's the dawn of a new day
New hopes, new dreams, new ways

Scrapbook Steals Turquoise Challenge #5

This challenge involved using this sketch:
I used more of Echo Park's Time & Seasons for this layout of pictures of Jack on our Mother's Day Brunch at the Lobster Shop on Ruston Way.

Flying Off the Page

It took me a while to get into Graphic 45 papers but since I flipped the pages over to find their fantastic patterns, I'm hooked! I love cutting out bits and popping them off the page to add dimension. Here I also used felt to create the hearts with cutout wings from another sheet of their paper.

A Card Sketch

Just as much fun as layout sketches, card sketches are a great way to use leftover papers and embellishments and build a stash of cards to give. I found a great website for card sketches with challenges each week: http://cardpatterns.blogspot.com/
This week's sketch for a card featured buttons which I love!
I've been using Echo Park's Times & Seasons which had some great stickers for card making.

I am addicted to challenges and have been looking out for more and more to motivate me to get more of my photos scrapped. I found a website called Scrap-Friendzy that features fun challenges and a great summer long challenge forum!

Echo Park Times & Season

I was so excited and surprised when a box from Two Peas appeared on my doorstep and I hadn't ordered anything! It turns out I won a prize for a layout I did for the National Scrapbook Day event on their website. I received gorgeous papers including the entire collection from Echo Park's Times & Seasons. I created this layout of Hannah at camp with inspiration from a sketch challenge on Creative Scrappers.

GrandDiva's Sketch Challenge

Yet another layout for a sketch challenge, this one by GrandDiva's Creative Corner which is having weeklong challenges that combine into a month long challenge where you complete all the challenges. For the first one of June, the sketch is an adorable banner sketch:
I used a circle punch to make the banner which hangs on twine. I also used more of the Basic Grey Picadilly line which features pretty papers reminiscent of quilting calicos.

Another Sunshine Crop Challenge

For their second sketch challenge, Creative Scrappers posted this sketch which features multiple squares, perfect for featuring the patterned papers in a collection.
I used Basic Grey's Picadilly line for this photo of Hannah back when she was just a baby! The neutral colors are perfect with her khaki outfit and would work for a boy or a girl page.

Creative Scrappers Sunshine Crop

In an effort to bring a little bit of sunshine into the gloomy gray spring weather here, I've been following today's Sunshine Crop at Creative Scrappers. The first challenge is a sketch challenge...
I love the strips on this sketch since it's a perfect design for using my scraps which I always save. I used some scraps from my Cosmo Cricket stash, Circa 1934 and my new Fiskars notebook edge punch.

Card Sketches

I'm really on a sketch kick and found this fun blog that has a weekly card challenge!
They have a simple card sketch which is a quick and easy way to use scraps! I used this week's sketch...
which inspired this card I made with scraps from the page I did in my last post, papers by Authentique.
